In March, Project PROTECH would like to highlight Gloria Gao to be our Volunteer of The Month. Thank you Gloria for helping us with editorial translations. Your sincere efforts really helped many community members to stay informed during the COVID19 pandemic!
About Gloria:
I’ve been moving around from different countries in the past few years and decided to come back to Canada one year before the Pandemic started. Now I’m residing in Toronto and working in the media industry. I have been following several YouTube fitness dancers to keep myself active in lockdown time and it has turned into a habit that sticks for my free time. In addition, I also enjoy photography, shopping and travelling.
Why I volunteered at PROTECH:
I saw the post that PROTECH was looking for volunteers at the Wechat moment. It was shared by a respectful friend. I browsed the website and learned that the organization has an aim to help Asians and address issues such as mental health and racism that we are all facing. So I decided to join as a volunteer and helped translate news and articles. I believe it is helpful for people who don’t read English and want to stay Covid informed.
