Amidst a surge in anti-Asian racism and violence, University of British Columbia (UBC) President Santa Ono convened the National Forum on Anti-Asian Racism. The Forum aimed to facilitate candid conversations in order to formulate directions for future action. The targeting of those considered Asian has a long history in Canada. However, with anti-Asian hate crimes on the rise and making headlines across Canada, a national discussion needed to take place.
